Ways to make complaints in
CUHK

At the
Chinese University of Hong Kong, the Sexual Harassment Panel provides
mediation, complaint investigation and appeal processes for all university
members.
Prof. Joyce
Ma said, “Complainants who choose mediation need not apply in
writing. Cases handled through this channel are not kept on record.
“Those
who wish an investigation into the matter should file a formal complaint
in writing, providing the identity of the complainant and details of
the alleged harassment.”
At least
two panelists of different genders will be appointed for the investigation.
The respondent will be given a copy of the complaint and have a chance
to respond to the allegation.
“If
the conduct does constitute sexual harassment and warrants disciplinary
action, formal disciplinary procedures will be taken,” Prof. Ma
continued.
In the
mediation and complaint investigation, the privacy of all parties will
be protected according to university policies and applicable laws.
