When talking about horses, most people think of gambling. Their enthusiasm for betting on the horses has made them forget that riding horses can be a kind of sport as well.
Though Hong Kong lacks extensive grassland for horse-riders to gallop, people can still enjoy riding at Tuen Mun Public Riding School.
The riding school was set up by the Hong Kong Jockey Club and the Regional Council in 1994. It is not exclusive to “nobility”, but is open to the public. People can arrange lessons with the school according to its time schedule.
Classes for horse and pony riding are $340 and $275 per lesson, respectively. Students can also attend private lessons with tuition fees ranging from $200 to $340.
