Gone
with the Wind is known as the greatest love story ever told. The
story is set against civil war and is a about a spoiled Southern
girl’s hopeless love for a married man.
Its
premiere was held on 15 December 1939. Its legendary stars, Clark
Gable and Vivian Leigh, captured the hearts of its audience. The
movie won 10 Academy Awards in 1940. They included awards for Best
Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay and Best Actress. In addition,
the film grossed nearly US$192 million.
In
1998, it was re-released in the U.S. The colours had been enhanced
and 12 minutes of the film’s negative were digitally restored to
remove imperfections. This release was also presented with its original
overture, an intermission, and exit music as originally planned.
The
Beatles. Ever since the ?0s, the phrase has come to mean a rock
group more than an bunch of insects.
The
rock ’n?roll of the ?0s was predominantly Beatles-inspired. They
displayed a limitless variety of harmonies, structures, and sounds
in rock ’n?roll. They also defined the style of the ?0s: playful,
eclectic, and high-spirited.
In
December 1968, the Beatles’s The White Album soared to No. 1 Billboard

success can be attributed to its variety.
Everything
from ballads, to hard rock, folk songs and avantgarde music were
experimented with. The members were solo artists using each other
as session musicians.
Unfortunately,
in December 1980, John Lennon was assassinated in New York City.
In 1995, the remaining Beatles gathered to record new tracks that
were included in the Beatles Anthology albums and documentaries.
