Unplanned constructed houses are common scenes in Pokfulam village. Land ownership is a complicated
issue in the village.
Near the entrance of the village
is Wai Chi High Street, where a
wet market and grocery stores
locate. The businesses started
since the 1920s. There were
more than 50 stalls back in the
1950s and 1960s. Only five
stalls are still in operation now,
as many villagers have moved
away.
